MOVA Takes Center Stage at IFA 2026 with “The AI MOVAment,” Redefining Premium AI Smart Living

BERLIN, September 4, 2026 — MOVA takes the stage at IFA 2026 with "The AI MOVAment", unveiling 22 global product debuts and 15 innovative technologies across smart outdoor, home cleaning, smart kitchen, pet care, and embodied AI. From AstraX, its first robotic lawn mower equipped with a robotic arm, to an “electronic skin” that gives robot vacuums a sense of touch, and the Knot 80 dexterous hand that points to new possibilities for intelligent manipulation, MOVA is bringing perception, decision-making, and action together to show how AI can sense, decide, and act in the real world.

“The AI MOVAment” is MOVA’s call to lead a new wave of AI innovation. Across more than 1,700 square meters of exhibition space, MOVA brings that vision to life through new applications of AI, breakthroughs that push the boundaries of technology, and tangible ideas for the future of intelligent living. Starting with Perception: Reimagining Robotic Sensing with AI to Help Machines Better Understand the World

Robots have traditionally relied on cameras to “see” their surroundings or radar to detect nearby objects. Now, MOVA is adding a new sense to robot vacuums: touch. And as intelligent devices move into new environments, including underwater, reliable connectivity becomes just as important as perception. At IFA 2026, MOVA is showcasing new sensing and interaction technologies that reshape how robots perceive and connect with the world around them.

Among these innovations, the TactiPercept™ System introduces touch into a robot vacuum’s perception system. Combining visual recognition with tactile sensing, it uses 128 pressure sensors, a flexible cushioning structure, and real-time pressure feedback to detect contact with furniture, walls, and other surroundings. The robot can then adjust its movement and cleaning strategy in real time.


It slows down upon gentle contact with obstacles, maintains safe contact along walls for edge cleaning, and uses tactile feedback to assist with autonomous self-recovery. With TactiPercept™, robots move beyond simply “seeing and avoiding” to “touching and sensing” their surroundings.

Underwater environments present a different challenge. Wireless signals such as Wi-Fi cannot be transmitted reliably through water, so some existing solutions rely on a separate surface device to relay communications.

MOVA’s upgraded AquaSonar™ Underwater Communication System uses ultrasonic communication to maintain connectivity underwater. The relay is integrated directly into the dock, eliminating the need for a separate floating communication buoy. This allows the robot to stay connected while operating underwater, so users can check its status and access relevant controls with a simpler setup.
From sensing the world through touch to staying connected underwater, MOVA is expanding how robots perceive and connect with their surroundings. The next challenge is turning that information into precise execution.

Advancing Precision: From Fixed Execution to Adaptive Performance

Understanding the environment is only part of the equation.  At IFA 2026, MOVA’s latest UltraTrim™ technologies show how precise execution can adapt to real-world conditions.

Today’s robotic lawn mowers can automate most of the mowing, but the final edges often still require manual work, which frustrates most users. Grass left along walls, fences, and hedges can mean reaching for a handheld tool to finish the job. That “last centimeter” has long been one of the hardest parts of lawn care to fully automate.

At IFA 2026, as the Global No. 1 brand by sales volume of LiDAR robotic lawn mowers*, MOVA is introducing its latest UltraTrim™ edge-trimming technology to tackle that “last centimeter.” Making its debut, LiDAX Ultra Gen 2 features the new UltraTrim™ 3.0, with a dedicated edge-cutting disc on the right side that delivers 0 cm* edge-gap trimming along walls, fences, and hedges, covering areas the main cutting deck cannot reach. Where grass meets hard surfaces at the same level, the mower can ride over the boundary and trim the edge in the same pass, reducing uncut strips for more complete mowing coverage.

But reaching the edge is only the beginning. Real gardens introduce far more complexity, from flower beds and pathways to uneven terrain and different cutting-height requirements.

Designed for the next generation of MOVA robotic lawn mowers, UltraTrim™ 4.0 takes a more adaptive approach. While also delivering 0 cm edge-gap trimming*, it introduces an adaptive robotic edging arm that extends beyond the mower body. A floating mechanism allows the cutting disc to follow changes in terrain, while three cutting-height settings—4, 5, and 6 cm*—provide greater flexibility across different lawn conditions. The arm can also retract automatically when it encounters an obstacle. Together, these capabilities allow the mower to adapt its edging position and cutting height across a wider range of boundaries and terrain, while reducing the need for manual touch-ups.

Both UltraTrim™ 3.0 and 4.0 target 0 cm edge-gap trimming*, but at different levels. UltraTrim™ 3.0 is designed to trim right to the edge, while UltraTrim™ 4.0 adapts how it trims across different boundaries and terrain. Together, they reflect MOVA’s approach to precision, maintaining that accuracy as real-world conditions change.

The Next Leap in Embodied AI: From Robotic Manipulation to Dexterous Interaction

As AI takes on more complex real-world tasks, robots need to do more than perform predefined operations. They must be able to use toolsand adapt their movements to different goals. At IFA 2026, MOVA is showcasing this progression through the AstraX robotic lawn mower and the Knot 80 dexterous hand—from task-specific robotic manipulation toward greater dexterity and versatility, and offering a glimpse into what embodied AI could become.

In the garden, MOVA brings robotic manipulation to AstraX. Equipped with a Multi-functional Arm and interchangeable tool heads, the robotic lawn mower can go beyond mowing to handle tasks such as obstacle removal, fruit picking, and watering.

When AI vision detects an object blocking its mowing path, the arm can remove it before AstraX resumes the task. With a two-finger gripper, it can pick fruit from low positions; with a watering nozzle, it can water designated areas at scheduled times.

AstraX will bring these capabilities to life at IFA with the “WORLD’S FIRST ROBOTIC MOWER ARM SHOW.” Set to music from a guest DJ, multiple AstraX mowers will perform synchronized movements with their Multi-functional Arms, turning robotic control and motion into a live, interactive experience for visitors.

If AstraX shows how robotic manipulation can serve specific garden tasks, Knot 80 takes the idea further: how dexterous can a robot arm become?

Unlike conventional robotic arms designed primarily for simple gripping, Knot 80 moves closer to the dexterity of the human hand. It combines a humanoid-inspired robotic arm with 3D spatial perception and intelligent grasp control, featuring 11 degrees of freedom and 15 articulated joints*. The system also integrates 3D Structured Light Vision, Dual-Direction Rotation, and the Smart Robotic Arm Control System.

When handling objects of different shapes, materials, and orientations, Knot 80 can recognize their position and spatial relationship,
determine how to grasp them, and dynamically adjust gripping force between 25 and 50 N*. Continuous visual feedback allows it to refine its movements in real time, enabling more precise, dexterous, and stable manipulation instead of simply repeating predefined motions.

Knot 80 is about more than building a more dexterous robotic hand. MOVA envisions bringing this capability to a wider range of products and scenarios, enabling robots to grasp, move, and organize objects as they take on more complex tasks.

As perception, decision-making, and dexterous manipulation come together, robots could move beyond single-purpose functions toward broader roles in cleaning, organization, storage, and everyday life. Knot 80 offers a glimpse of that future—one where embodied AI is not only capable of action, but capable of acting with dexterity.

*11 degrees of freedom refers to the 11 independently movable joints in the Knot 80 dexterous hand. By adjusting and coordinating these joints, the hand can perform different grasping orientations, including forward and reverse grasps. The complete robotic arm system features 15 articulated joints in total: four in the robotic arm and 11 in the dexterous hand.
*The 25–50 N gripping force data is based on testing conducted in MOVA laboratories under specified test conditions. Actual performance may vary depending on the environment and conditions of use.

NexLawn, a member of the MOVA Group, will also be present at IFA 2026 with a dedicated showcase within the MOVA booth. The space will present NexLawn robotic lawn mowers, robotic pool cleaners, and its commercial robotic lawn mower, giving visitors a closer look at the products and technologies behind them.


MOVA is introducing how AI can move beyond the digital realm and take on a greater role in the real world—from sensing its surroundings and executing tasks with greater precision to interacting with the physical world through dexterous manipulation. When machines can not only understand their environment, but also determine what to do and carry it through, AI moves from invisible algorithms to intelligence people can experience firsthand.
